The cover of the latest Rolling Stone magazine has caused a wave of anger. The August issue shows the portrait of the Boston Marathon bombing suspect, Dschochar Zarnajew (19).
Usually, this place is reserved for pop stars and celebrities.
In the cover story, Rolling Stone Magazine reports about Dschochar Zarnajew, his brother Tamerlan and their alleged motives for the assault.
Several retailers such as CVS, Rite-Aid and Kmart have now announced that they will not sell the August issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. Thousands of people expressed their anger on the magazine’s facebook page.
Boston’s Mayor Thomas M. Menino wrote an open letter to the Rolling Stone publisher, Jann Wenner. The letter reads:
Celebrities expressed their anger on Twitter. Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack Osbourne asked his fans to retweet a boycott of Rolling Stones Magazine.
