Google Maps has once again arrived on Google Play; albeit, with cleaner design, vibrant colors, and new discovery features.
In May, Google presented a trailer of the Android version of Google Maps at I/O developers. The search engine giant is now ready to roll out this feature.
The Google Play store hosts the revamped Google Maps with a modernized interface and new search features. You may not be able to enjoy the update on your device. However, Google has announced it will gradually launch Android 4.0.3+ users over the next few weeks.
To the eye, the cleaner design and livelier colors definitely impress. Aside those, the interface offers better navigational features such as incident reports, live traffic updates and dynamic rerouting.
The new Maps also allow users to discover local restaurants, bars, shops, and hotels in a better way using the Explore function.
Even though Google acquired map-app maker Waze for $1.1 billion, it is too early for engineers to integrate Waze’s features with Google Maps.
